The Salute To American Tour

back to program menu

is a one hour patriotic program full of red, white and blue splendor. Besides being availed of the talented dancing skills of our collective performance groups, through out the entire program the audience viewing pleasure will be stimulated with period authentic and colorful patriotic costumes - as well as a verity of interactive props that are intended to enhance their viewing pleasure and intensify the musical rhythm of the program. The creators of this show have dedicated this program to all the men and women past, present, and future that have, or will risk their life's to keep this nation free. Whether they are military or first responders, no matter whether overseas or here at home, those who serve this nation so we might live a better life should never be forgotten. A brief moment is always taken between performance pieces to salute each branch of the military individually as well as our first responders collectively. This program is our way of saying thanks for everything you do.

Program Synopsis:

The program opens with a famous visitor from the past. As he makes his way through the performance venue, interacting with the audience, the actor recreates our interpretation of a very well known historical event. This skit portrays a call to arms that began with one man and eventually ended with many as he sounded the alarm to local citizens throughout the surrounding countryside on his way to Concord from Boston via Lexington. The currier's main mission was not to give advance warning to the Colonial Militia, as important as that was. His prime goal was rather, to save Hancock and Adams from arrest and eventual hanging.

Now that everyone has been warned of the impending invasion, the story advances to a point where, George Washington, George Ross (her uncle), and Robert Morris visit Betsy Ross's home to commission her in the creation of the nation's first flag. At the conclusion of this meeting, while Betsy settles in for the remainder of the program and busies herself with the process of sewing the flag, she will be joined by - the (name)-(a newly organized senior line dance group under our banner this year), the senior tap group-the Golden Tappers (who just joined our organization last year)-and the members of our own senior performance groups, the Timeless Dancers and Vintage Players. Once in place, the entire cast, less one, will now pay respect to the nation while the Star Spangle Banner plays in the background.

At the conclusion of the Star Spangle Banner, another well know historical character will join our collective performance groups. As the famous visitor moves through the performance ensemble, he delivers the opening remarks setting the tone for the upcoming show. This opening dialogue begins with the first line from one of the best known speeches in United States history.  A speech delivered by him at the dedication of the Soldier's National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The conclusion of the opening remarks will end with an equally famous line that everyone should recognize. When our historical character's oratory come to a close, he will assume the duties as Master of Ceremonies guiding the audience through the remainder of the show.

With the setup skits now complete, the program moves into the first of eight dance numbers. The last of which will be proceeded by return to Betsy Ross and the project she has been working on so diligently throughout the show. Before the last numbers begins and the entire cast pay tribute to the nation, the culmination of her work will be put on display for all to see.

The programs first dance number is entitled Live, Laugh, and Love and will be performed to Where The Stars and Strips and Eagle Fly as performed by Aaron Tipton. It will be performed collective by the newly organized performance line dance group "Phoenix Rising", last years new kids on the block "The Golden Tappers", and the long time established RGVEG performance group "TheTimeless Dancers". This dance, as will be the next, is support by the use of red, white and blue Pom-Poms.

From there the show switches gears featuring a high velocity tap number by the newly formed  dance group The Golden Tappers to Yankee Doodle Dandy.

With the tap number still swirling in you head, the program changes direction again, presenting more patriotic country and western music as the line dance team stimulates your senses with their precision dance steps in a highly synced performance.

With the exit of the line dancers, prepare your emotions to be touched with a very moving skit/dance presentation depicting the story of a young couple as they just finish their citizenship processing at Ellis Island.

At the conclusion of Rose and Benjamin's story, as they walk to board the waiting ferry and start the final leg of their journey to their new life, the line dance team returns to the dance floor, lead by Lady Liberty, to set up the closing number of the show.

For the shows closing, the entire cast, including Lady Liberty and Betsy Ross, assemble on the dance floor and perform a flag waving tribute to America while performing Carol's Waltz.
